The Ends of the Earth was founded in New York in 1903 by Poulteney Bigelow and Rudyard Kipling to commemorate the co-operation of Admiral Chichester with Admiral Dewey at Manila in 1898 during the Spanish-American War.
The purpose of the dining club is to bring together present and future senior British and American figures in business, public life and the Armed Services to discuss the key political and commercial issues of the time under the Chatham House Rule.
